John L Naar ( 姜念华) is the Vice President for IBM’s Technology
Support Services (TSS) organization responsible for Hardware, Software and
Cloud Solutions support for IBM Logo and OEM technologies in the United States.
has been with IBM for 32 years in various management and executive roles.
Educated as Electrical Engineer
(Michigan State University) 1987, Today John is based in Austin, Texas with his
family. He has had extensive
interaction with clients under duress as well as external OEM partners and
internal organizations, such as IBM Development, Sales, Cognitive Systems critical
situation management, Product Engineering (PE) and field service teams across
the globe. His current focus is to
provide leadership in the US to further transform various support teams into a
seamless integrated service model and leverage best practice cognitive AI tools
to improve the client support experience for IBM’s customers.
His previous assignment was in Asia as Director of Product
Engineering (PE) and remote level support
in a Global Competency Center based in Shanghai China. John was responsible for building up an integrated
remote service team to address client technical hardware and software issues
for IBM’s solution portfolio (PureSystems, Cognitive System/AIX, Storage,
System X & System Z) across Asia. In
addition, he managed the teams who were responsible for the resolution of customer
complaints for all aspects of client support, product quality and overall client
